JEDDAH — The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties revealed that the number of registered healthcare practitioners in the Kingdom surpassed 801,000 by the year 2025. They include 460,000 Saudi practitioners, in addition to nationals of 140 countries. Their number marks a 4.5 percent increase compared to the year 2024. According to recent reports issued by the authority, there are 12590 health practitioners who graduated from the Saudi Board programs for health specialties and the health academy programs during last year. Meanwhile, 10920 training seats were available in health specialization programs, representing a 17 percent increase compared to 2024. The year 2025 also witnessed the graduation of 5540 male and female graduates, constituting the largest class in the history of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and representing an 8 percent increase over the previous year. At the same time, 25880 male and female trainees continue their training within the programs of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties works to enhance the quality of healthcare in the Kingdom by developing the competencies of health practitioners and qualifying them in accordance with international standards. Its responsibilities also include regulating health professions, developing training and academic programs, conducting professional examinations, and issuing specialized certificates. The authority continues its efforts to qualify and empower national cadres in cooperation with educational institutions and local and international health authorities. These efforts aimed to enhance the quality of training and health practice while supporting the objectives of developing the health sector in the Kingdom.
