Saudi Arabia and the United States signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries. 
According to a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Energy, the agreement follows the announcement made during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the US last November on the completion of negotiations on bilateral cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. It also aims to strengthen cooperation in the energy and advanced technology sectors.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, who also serves as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
It seeks to enhance bilateral cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy through the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and technology, while supporting joint projects in line with the highest international standards for nuclear safety, security, and non-proliferation.
The agreement also reflects the two countries’ joint vision to expand cooperation in future energy technologies and support sustainable development.
It builds on the longstanding energy partnership between Saudi Arabia and the US, supporting efforts to diversify energy sources, advance innovative technologies, and expand investment and cooperation opportunities in the mutual interest of both countries.
