Shams said the three members resigned for personal reasons, effective July 14
Saudi Tourism Enterprise Co. (Shams) announced the resignation of three board members, who also stepped down from their respective committee memberships, according to a statement to Tadawul.
These include Badr Al Qadi – an independent board member and member of the development and investment committee, Wael Al Bassam – independent board member and member of the nomination and remuneration committee and Ziyad Al Afaleq – independent board member and member of the audit committee.
They resigned for personal reasons, Shams noted, adding that the resignations were submitted on July 14, 2026, and took effect on the same date.
According to data available with Argaam, Shams general meeting will convene on July 16 to vote on the dismissal of the current board of directors, based on a request submitted by a group of shareholders collectively owning 10.04% of the company’s share capital.
The requesting shareholders are Saeed Babiker, Lama International Investment Co., and Saleh Abdulaziz Babiker Sons Trading Contracting Co.
Following the resignation of the three board members, the board now consists of four members: Khalid Al Buwardi, Chairman; Abdullah Al Suwailem, Vice Chairman; Rashid Al Rasheed; and Wael Al Rasheed.
