Saudi Arabia’s non-oil business confidence index (BCI) rose 1.8% in June from the previous month, according to data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The index advanced one point to 56.6 in June from 55.6 in May, reflecting broad optimism across the business sector, supported by firms’ confidence in the stability of economic activity in the Kingdom and continued growth across various sectors.
GASTAT defines the business confidence index as a measure of optimism and pessimism about future developments in the non-oil sector, based on surveys covering output, inputs, employment, as well as business development and expansion activities.
The industrial sector’s BCI rose 1.3% month-on-month (MoM) to 55.0 in June.
The services sector’s BCI rose 1.7% MoM to 55.5, while the construction sector’s index climbed 1.9% to 57.8.
The rise across sectors was fueled by stronger optimism over overall performance, sales, and purchase orders.
