The Saudi cabinet welcomed the World Bank’s recognition of Saudi Arabia’s AI regulatory sandbox in education.

The Saudi Cabinet, during its meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, approved the establishment of a unified national visa platform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will serve as the Kingdom’s official national visa platform, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Cabinet added that Saudi Arabia’s ranking as the world’s top performer in the 2026 ICT Development Index, published by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), reflects the Kingdom’s continued progress in digital infrastructure and regulatory environment, strengthening its global leadership in technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Cabinet also welcomed the World Bank’s recognition of Saudi Arabia’s AI regulatory sandbox in education, describing it as a pioneering model and an international benchmark for advancing higher-quality and more sustainable digital education by leveraging modern technologies and enabling educational institutions and innovators to create practical solutions in the sector.
