​KANSAS CITY — England’s preparations for FIFA World Cup 2026 have been disrupted after training equipment was reportedly stolen from a vehicle transporting gear to the team’s base in Kansas City, police said on Saturday.The incident occurred while equipment was being transferred from England’s pre-tournament camp in Florida to Swope Soccer Village, where it was scheduled to be ready before the squad’s arrival in Kansas City.Kansas City police said they are investigating a possible theft after the vehicle arrived with items missing.”We are investigating a possible theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with items missing this evening,” police said in a statement.”The investigation is ongoing. Two subjects of interest were taken into custody pending further investigation.”According to British media reports, footballs and boots were among the items believed to have been stolen.The Football Association said the matter was being handled by police and declined to provide further details.England are due to begin training in Kansas City ahead of their World Cup opener against Croatia in Dallas on Wednesday.
