JEDDAH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) forecasts rain in several parts of the Kingdom from Thursday to Wednesday. The NCM has released an animated map that shows rainfall levels and the travel path. Starting Thursday afternoon, rainfall is expected in the southern region, specifically in areas around Asir, including its capital, Abah, and the southeastern part of Jazan. Later in the evening, the rain will begin to dissipate, with some rain around Abah before it disappears completely. According to the animated map, no rain will affect any parts of the kingdom until late in the afternoon on Friday. It will affect the same areas on Thursday, but the rain seems likely to intensify slightly. The map also shows that the area surrounding Taif in Makkah will begin to experience moderate rainfall early in the evening,, before the rain disappears completely later in the evening, with some remaining around Abha. On Saturday afternoon, rain will affect Taif in Makkah and parts of Asir, including Abha. Sunday afternoon, some scattered rain will affect the western parts of Asir and the southern parts of the Makkah region. According to the animated map, on Monday afternoon, heavier rainfall will affect most of western Asir, including its capital, while more moderate rain will fall in eastern Jana, Al Baha, and the area south of Taif. The rain will slow and weaken later Monday evening. On Tuesday afternoon, light rain is expected to affect Asir’s northwestern border with Al Baha. Some light rain will be scattered between Asir, Al Baha, and Makkah between the afternoon and evening. Wednesday afternoon, the map shows that moderate rainfall will affect the southern parts of Jazan before spreading across the region and spilling into the southern parts of Asir later in the afternoon. The rain will eventually intensify and affect the majority of Asir’s western parts and Jazan’s eastern parts, and some of it will spill into Al Baha before disappearing completely later in the evening.
