Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports rose 9% year on year (YoY) to a record SAR 949.8 billion in 2025, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), marking the highest annual import value ever recorded by the Kingdom.
Machinery, mechanical appliances, electrical equipment, and related parts remained the Kingdom’s largest import category, accounting for SAR 275.2 billion, or 29% of total imports, up 25% from a year earlier.
Vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and related transport equipment ranked second, with imports totaling SAR 129.6 billion, representing 14% of the overall import bill.
