KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait said on Wednesday that Iranian missile and drone attacks killed one person, injured 63 others and damaged key facilities, including diplomatic missions and Kuwait International Airport, as the Gulf state stressed it reserves the full right to respond.In a statement, Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Iran’s “brutal and continued attacks,” saying strikes carried out early Wednesday targeted civilian and vital infrastructure, including Kuwait International Airport.The ministry said the attacks resulted in one death, dozens of injuries and damage to critical facilities, including diplomatic missions.Health Ministry spokesman Abdullah Al-Sanad said 63 people were injured, including seven who underwent major emergency surgeries.According to Al-Sanad, the injured included airport employees and travelers, with injuries ranging from fractures and head trauma to brain hemorrhages and limb amputations.Kuwait retains its “full and inherent right” to take appropriate measures in response to the attacks in accordance with international law, the Foreign Ministry said.The ministry described the strikes as a “flagrant violation” of international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026, warning that Kuwait’s security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents are a “red line that cannot be crossed.”Separately, Kuwait’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation announced a partial resumption of operations at Kuwait International Airport after damage assessments were completed.The authority said only Kuwait Airways flights would operate through Terminal 4, adding that technical teams had implemented the necessary measures to ensure the safety of flight operations.Passengers were advised to coordinate directly with Kuwait Airways to verify flight schedules and travel details.
