Saudi Arabia’s national carrier Saudia aims to increase the number of its passengers from approximately 35 million currently to more than 50 million passengers by 2030, said Chief Marketing Officer Khaled Tash.
He told Asharq Bloomberg that the airline currently serves around 100 destinations and plans to expand this network to between 140 and 145 destinations by 2030.
The airline’s fleet development will play a crucial role in achieving these targets, as the group plans to focus on expanding and maximizing the utilization of its fleet, including the comprehensive refurbishment of 45 wide-body aircraft, according to Tash.
He also said that Premium Economy Class will be introduced across the fleet between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027.
“We are well positioned to compete and contribute to the Kingdom’s national objectives by attracting tourists, increasing the number of pilgrims and Umrah visitors, and supporting major international events such as the FIFA World Cup 2034 and AFC Asian Cup 2027,” said the official.
According to Argaam’s available data, Saudia signed earlier an agreement with Airbus, under which it is set to receive 12 new aircraft during 2026 as part of its ongoing fleet expansion and modernization program.
