Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), in cooperation with Folk Maritime and Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), launched the new “Red Sea Express” container shipping service to King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu, with a capacity of up to 1,100 TEUs.

The shipping line connects Jeddah Islamic Port, King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu, Ain Sokhna Port, and Port of Aqaba, enhancing export efficiency and supporting trade movement between Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, according to a statement issued by the authority today, May 19.

According to Mawani, the new line is expected to accelerate cargo handling operations, reduce waiting times, and improve supply chain efficiency, in addition to supporting smoother logistics movement and enhancing operational efficiency.

The service is also expected to boost non-oil exports, attract new investments, and strengthen the competitiveness of Saudi exports by reducing shipping times and transportation costs.

King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu is considered one of the Kingdom’s key industrial ports, with a handling capacity of up to 210 million tons annually.
