Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries fell in March 2026 to $149.6 billion, declining by about $10.8 billion, from $160.4 billion a month earlier, according to data from the US Department of the Treasury.
The Kingdom maintained the 17th ranking among the largest holders of US debt in February.
The decline was driven by a drop in short-term Treasury holdings, which fell by about $12 billion, or 22% month-on-month, to $42.6 billion, accounting for 28.5% of the total.
By contrast, holdings of long-term bonds edged up to $107 billion, representing 71.5% of the total.
Japan remained the largest holder of US Treasuries at $1.19 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom with $926.9 billion.
