US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran is facing a financial collapse after announcing an extension of the ceasefire, while affirming that the naval blockade on Iranian ports will remain in place.

“Iran is collapsing financially! They want the Strait of Hormuz opened immediately,” he writes on Truth Social, adding that the Islamic Republic is “starving for cash.”

He added that Iran is losing $500 million per day, noting that both the military and police are complaining about not receiving their salaries.
