Saudi exports to GCC drive January trade surplus to SAR 6.1 billion

Saudi Arabia’s non-oil trade surplus with GCC countries reached approximately SAR 6.13 billion in January 2026, up 106% year-on-year (YoY), while the total non-oil trade volume stood at around SAR 23 billion in the same month.

Saudi non-oil merchandise exports and re-exports to GCC countries increased 55% YoY to nearly SAR 14.5 billion in January 2026. This included SAR 10.9 billion in re-exports and SAR 3.64 billion in domestic exports.

On the other hand, Saudi merchandise imports from GCC countries amounted to about SAR 8.4 billion, up 31% YoY, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics.

The UAE accounted for the largest share of Saudi Arabia’s non-oil trade with GCC countries, with a non-oil trade surplus of around SAR 5.4 billion.
