Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Competition (GAC) received 75 economic concentration requests Q1 2026, down 31% year-on-year (YoY), with 51 filings greenlit. 
In a recent report, GAC said the average review time stood at 3.8 days during the quarter, while the total value of deals reached SAR 777.8 billion.
Foreign entities accounted for 69% of acquisition plans, compared with 31% for domestic firms.
Acquisitions represented 94% of total filings, while mergers, joint ventures, and additional agency registrations in the automotive sector each accounted for 2% each.
