MAKKAH — The Makkah Mayoralty announced that it will take punitive measures against unlicensed mobile food trucks after the expiry of the grace period granted to rectify violations. This is part of its ongoing efforts to regulate commercial activities and preserve the urban landscape. The mayoralty clarified that the procedures include identifying and penalizing unlicensed food trucks located on roads, sidewalks, and in public areas. Owners of food trucks were given a 72-hour grace period, starting from April 6 to remove their trucks so as to avoid penalties. The mayoralty emphasized that immediate action will be taken against those, who fail to comply with the instructions, and the punitive measures include the removal and impounding of the food trucks involved in violations. It stressed the importance of adhering to municipal regulations and instructions to maintain the safety of public facilities, promote compliance, and reduce visual pollution. The mayoralty called on mobile vendors to comply with the approved requirements and regulations, which will contribute to organizing the activity and improving the urban environment. It stressed that the mayoralty’s inspection teams will continue tours to ensure compliance.
