Stock exchanges in the US, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia will be closed on Friday in observance of Good Friday, while trading will continue in Japan and China.

As for Easter, which falls on Sunday, April 5, markets remain closed as it coincides with the regular weekend.

Notably, Easter Monday (April 6) is not a public holiday in US stock markets, putting them in direct contrast with European markets, which remain closed on that day.

In Europe and the UK, the holiday is observed more broadly, with markets closed for four consecutive days (from Friday through Monday).

The Hong Kong Exchange sees one of the longest annual closures. In addition to Good Friday and Easter Monday, it will also be closed on April 7, as a substitute holiday for Qingming Festival (Tomb-Sweeping Day), which falls on Sunday.

For oil and gold, the CME Group implements a full closure on Friday. These markets close at their usual time on Thursday, and importantly, the closing prices on April 2, will be carried forward as the official settlement prices for Friday.
