SABIC Agri-Nutrients Co. (SABIC AN)received, on March 25, the Ministry of Energy’s approval to allocate the necessary feedstock for the establishment of its seventh plant in Jubail Industrial City, according to a Tadawul statement.
The new plant will produce 1.2 million metric tons per annum (mtpa) of conventional ammonia and 2.6 mtpa of urea.
The new addition will increase the company’s urea production capacity from 4.8 mtpa to 7.4 mtpa, a 54% increase over current levels.
This reinforces SABIC AN’s position as one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of nitrogen-based fertilizers, in line with its 2040 growth strategy.
