Qatar resumes in-person work after weeks of remote operations

DOHA — Qatar has resumed in-person work across government institutions after nearly three weeks of remote operations introduced in response to Iranian attacks, officials said Tuesday.Employees returned to workplaces following an official decision to restore normal operations, according to local media reports.Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said the move came after a security review, stressing that “life cannot be disrupted indefinitely,” while noting that no Iranian attacks have been reported in recent days.He added that Qatar remains prepared for any developments and has contingency plans in place.Authorities had announced that normal operations would resume across all government entities starting March 24, ending remote work measures first introduced on Feb. 28 following US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Tehran’s retaliation.Remote work policies were later expanded on March 8, allowing up to 70% of government employees to work from home, with priority given to mothers and certain groups.According to available data, Qatar intercepted at least 206 missiles, 87 drones and two fighter jets during the escalation, based on defense updates.The last reported Iranian attack occurred on March 19, targeting Ras Laffan Industrial City, a key global energy hub.
