Saudi defenses intercept missile, down 15 drones across Eastern Province

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said Sunday that air defenses intercepted one ballistic missile over Riyadh, while two others fell in uninhabited areas.The ministry also confirmed the downing of 15 drones over the Eastern Province.The first interceptions began overnight, with four drones shot down over the Eastern Province, followed by a fifth an hour later.Several hours later, another drone was intercepted in the same region.Later, three ballistic missiles were launched toward Riyadh, with one intercepted and two falling in uninhabited areas.An hour after the missile incident, one drone was intercepted and destroyed over the Eastern Province, followed immediately by four more.By midday, the ministry confirmed the interception of an additional drone over the same region.
