MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced full operational readiness to receive worshippers on the 29th night of Ramadan, which marks the completion of the Qur’an during Taraweeh prayers.The authority said preparations are part of an integrated operational plan aimed at enabling pilgrims and worshippers to perform their rituals with ease and comfort amid the expected high turnout at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.Efforts include intensified carpet cleaning, sanitization, and continuous perfuming, along with the preparation of additional prayer areas across corridors and courtyards to accommodate growing crowds.Zamzam water has also been made available at multiple locations to serve visitors.The authority said it has enhanced readiness across operational infrastructure systems, including electricity, cooling, lighting, sound systems, elevators, escalators, and emergency and safety systems to ensure uninterrupted services during peak times.To manage crowds, designated movement pathways have been activated to ensure smooth flow and reduce congestion, alongside organizing electric cart movement and assigning dedicated routes.Interactive 3D maps have been deployed to help visitors navigate easily, in addition to the activation of “Where Are We” QR code location services inside the two holy mosques.Field teams have been supported with on-ground staff equipped with instant translation devices to assist visitors of different nationalities, along with guest care centers providing guidance and support.The authority added that services for worshippers include the provision of Qur’ans, Braille copies, digital prayer guides, as well as support for i’tikaf, healthcare, and awareness services to enhance the overall spiritual experience during the night of Qur’an completion.
