JEDDAH — President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi toured on Wednesday the operations of digital devices and e-gates at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA Esam Alwagait joined the tour, along with several other officials. SDAIA operates these systems and monitors them technically around the clock to serve visitors arriving to perform Umrah, facilitating their entry and departure procedures. During the tour, Alghamdi reviewed the SDAIA’s operational efforts for digital systems, which incorporate advanced technologies designed to streamline passenger procedures and enhance operational efficiency. The systems improve the travel experience for Umrah pilgrims, keeping pace with national efforts to develop services provided to visitors to the Kingdom. The visit is part of SDAIA’s ongoing efforts to ensure readiness at the Kingdom’s entry points, particularly through the use of digital technologies, data, and AI to enhance services at Saudi airports. At King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, SDAIA oversees the operation of around 70 e-gates and 636 device stations across six international passenger halls, boosting operational efficiency, streamlining passenger journeys, and elevating service quality for visitors.
