RIYADH — Saudi Ministry of Defense said on Saturday air defense systems intercepted and destroyed multiple drones near the capital as regional tensions continue.Defense Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said six drones were intercepted and destroyed east of Riyadh.In a separate statement, he said air defenses also intercepted and destroyed eight drones after they entered Saudi airspace.Another drone was intercepted and destroyed east of Riyadh city, according to the spokesperson.Al-Maliki also said a ballistic missile launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base fell in an uninhabited area.
