Saudi air defenses intercept 4 drones over Riyadh region

RIYADH — Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed four drones over the Riyadh region on Friday morning, the Defense Ministry said.Defense Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said three drones were intercepted and destroyed east of the Riyadh region, while a fourth drone was shot down northeast of the capital.Earlier, Saudi air defenses also intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj governorate.In a separate update, the spokesperson said a cruise missile was intercepted and destroyed east of Al-Kharj governorate.Authorities said air defenses had also intercepted and destroyed two drones, one in the Eastern Province and another east of Al-Kharj.
