US President Donald Trump announced on Feb. 21 an immediate increase in the comprehensive tariff rate from 10% to 15%, oneday after the Supreme Court invalidated a large portion of the duties he had imposed since returning to office.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he decided to raise import tariffs to 15%, the maximum level fully permitted and legally tested, after reviewing the court’s ruling which he described as highly hostile to America.
