RIYADH — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced on Saturday that land, sea, and air customs ports recorded 1,455 seizures of contraband items during the last week. The seized items included 46 types of narcotics such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and Captagon pills, weapons, in addition to 536,558 prohibited substances. The authority stated that customs ports also seized 2,532 packages of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 28 cases involving cash and 3 types of weapons and related equipment. ZATCA affirmed its commitment to strengthening customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports to ensure the security and protection of society, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all its partners from relevant authorities.
