RIYADH — The Eastern Province Mayoralty announced the removal of 43 traffic signals to improve traffic flow and the implementation of 367 new pedestrian crossings in accordance with safety standards. The overall road safety has risen to 70 percent. The mayoralty added that visibility inside bridges and tunnels has increased by 100 percent, achieving 93 percent road safety. It also confirmed a 68 percent improvement in the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) for streets in the Dammam metropolitan area, as part of its efforts to improve road safety. These efforts aimed to enhance road safety and improve the efficiency of road safety infrastructure, thereby contributing to a higher quality of life.
