RIYADH — Lebanese security authorities were able to seize a drug manufacturing laboratory following the intelligence assistance provided by the Saudi Ministry of Interior. The seizure included amphetamine and methamphetamine (shabu), 870 tablets subject to medical circulation regulations, 4,600 kilograms of hashish, precursor chemicals used in drug production, and firearms. Brig. Gen. Talal bin Shalhoub, security spokesman of the ministry, said that the seizure was the result of the proactive monitoring of criminal networks involved in drug trafficking and was based on information provided by Saudi Ministry of Interior through the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to its counterpart in Lebanon. Talal bin Shalhoub highlighted the positive cooperation with the Lebanese counterpart in monitoring and seizing the narcotics. He affirmed that the Kingdom will continue to track criminal activities targeting its security and youth with drugs, and take all measures to confront and foil them.
