Saudi Arabia’s FDI inflows rose 10% to SAR 1.049 trillion by the third quarter of 2025.

Foreign direct investment in Saudi Arabia rose10% YoY toaround SAR 1,049.7 bln at the end of Q3 2025, accounting for about 33% of the Kingdom’s total foreign investments, according to data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

FDI is defined as an investment that reflects a long-term relationship and sustained interest from economic entities based in an economy outside of Saudi Arabia. This indicates that a foreign investor owns at least 10% of the shares’ voting power, giving shareholders the ability to direct or sway decisions in ways that best suit their interests. This procedure is therefore categorized as FDI.

Total foreign investments in Saudi Arabia reached SAR 3.21 trillion by the end of Q3 2025, marking an 18% YoY increase.

For the same period, portfolio investments, which include equity, investment funds, and debt bonds, reached SAR 1.31 trillion. Other investments amounted to SAR 843.6 billion.
