The decision to abolish the fee imposed on expatriate workers in industrial establishments will play a crucial role in creating stability in policies related to industrial investment, said Bandar AlKhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.

AlKhorayef added during a session at the 8th Riyadh Industrialists Council that the abolition will also encourage investors who had been waiting for the government’s direction on this matter to move forward with their investment decisions.

He noted that eliminating the fee reflects the clarity of the Kingdom’s vision and leadership regarding the sector, highlighting its importance in diversifying the economic base, increasing exports, and creating key job and investment opportunities for the growth of the non-oil sector.

AlKhorayef explained that Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, during the meeting in which the decision was made, advocated for the sector with full knowledge of all its details.

He led the decision to be made in this manner and with this speed, as the announcement was made at an unprecedented pace.

There were no Cabinet sessions following the budget announcement, and the decision was approved by circulation due to its importance, with the full support and conviction of the Crown Prince.

According to data available with Argaam, The Saudi Cabinet recently approved the abolition of fees imposed on expatriate labor in licensed industrial facilities.
