US President Donald Trump ordered a total and complete blockade last week on all oil tankers under sanctions entering or leaving Venezuela. 
The move came days after the US seized an oil tanker carrying Venezuelan crude, with the White House hinting that more vessels could be confiscated.
Last week also saw reports that Washington may impose new sanctions on Russia’s energy sector if Moscow fails to agree to a peace deal with Ukraine.
