Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Eastern Province, is scheduled on Nov. 24 to lay the foundation stone for an integrated logistics zone for Saudi Global Ports (SGP) at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

The ceremony will be attended by Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Eastern Province Governor will also inaugurate the new expansion works at the port’s second container terminal.

Last week, on the sidelines of the inauguration of Agility’s Logistics Complex in Jeddah, Al-Jasser told Argaam that since the launch of the national strategy, the Kingdom has accelerated projects and reforms, with nearly 30 logistics zones under development.

According to Argaam’s data, SGP was founded in 2012 and began commercial operations on April 23, 2015. The company is a joint venture formed between the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Singapore’s PSA International, and Saudi-based Al Blagha Holding.

SGP operates the first and second container terminals at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
