The OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) does not have the authority to make decisions about oil production levels, theOPEC Secretariat said in a statement on July 25.

It denied media reports that link the JMMC meeting, which is scheduled to meet on July 28, to oil output changes or voluntary adjustments are inaccurate.

The JMMC’s mandate is limited to monitoring and reviewing, not decision-making, OPEC added.
