Saudi Arabia launched around 10 renewable energy projects- since the start of construction work until 2024-end- nine of which have a total capacity of 6,151 megawatts, in addition to one wind energy project with a total capacity of 400 megawatts.

According to the 2024 renewable energy statistics bulletin issued by the General Authority for Statistics, five solar power projects were commissioned during 2024, with a total capacity of 3,751 megawatts.

The total investment in operational renewable energy projects in the Kingdom by the end of 2024 amounted to approximately SAR 19.8 billion, including SAR 18.26 billion invested in solar power projects, while the investment in the wind power project amounted to SAR 1.58 billion.

The value of investments in projects commissioned during 2024 alone stood at approximately SAR 12 billion.
