The project, signed by MAWANI at a value exceeding SAR 689 million, aims to implement a dedicated and direct logistics corridor linking Jeddah Islamic Port to Al-Khumra Logistics Zone, via a 17 km route dedicated for trucks.

The corridor includes two lanes in each direction, with 12 bridges along the road. This will facilitate the movement of trucks heading from Jeddah Islamic Port to Al-Khumra Logistics Zone, without the need to use the city’s internal transportation network, according to a statement.

This direct logistics corridor will boost the operational efficiency of truck traffic and the capacity of Jeddah Islamic Port by 10%. It will also enhance the integration of transportation patterns, support supply chain operations, develop infrastructure, facilitate the movement of goods and containers, and bolster the efficiency of supply chains. It will further contribute to introducing new investment opportunities in the region, said Al-Jasser.

According to data available with Argaam, MAWANI signed, in 2023, an agreement with Jeddah Chamber to establish an integrated logistics zone in Khumrah region, south of Jeddah, at an investment value of nearly SAR 1 billion. The zone, spanning three million square meters, will be one of the biggest logistics zones on the Red Sea.
