‎Residential mortgages dip 4% to SAR 7.4B in May ‎Residential mortgages dip 4% to SAR 7.4B in May

Residential mortgages provided by banks to individuals dropped by 4% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 7.4 billion in May, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
The total number of residential mortgage contracts signed between banks and individuals reached approximately 10,000 inMay 2025.
The average value of new residential mortgage loans fell by 2% YoY to SAR 741,000 during the same period.

Mortgages for residential villas accounted for the largest share of total bank financing, amounting to SAR 4.99 billion or 68% of the total in May. Apartments followed with SAR 1.85 billion, while land plots came in third at SAR 534 million.
