Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports rose 0.1% year-on-year (YoY) to almost SAR 74 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

Meanwhile, merchandise imports increased by 2%, or nearly SAR 1.65 billion, month-on-month (MoM),as follows:

Imports of machinery and mechanical appliances, and electrical equipment and their parts topped in March, representing 26%, or SAR 19.3 billion of the total Saudi imports.

Vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and associated transport equipment came second at 15%.

The US and the UAE followed with SAR 5.8 billion and SAR 4.4 billion, respectively.

The top 10 exporters to Saudi Arabia accounted for almost 65%, or SAR 48.1 billion, of the total imports in March,as shown below:
