During the second edition of the Aseer Investment Forum, Al Khateeb said the coming years will witness the addition of approximately 4,000 new hotel rooms in Aseer, supported by a strong tourism system.

Aseer, according to the minister, received nearly eight million local and international tourists in 2024, underscoring the province’s position as a key tourism hub in Saudi Arabia.

Thanks to its climate and cultural diversity, Aseer has become an all-year-round tourist destination, Al Khateeb noted.

Saudi Arabia seeks to increase the number of Kingdom-wide tourists to 150 million by 2030, from about 127 million in 2024, according to Argaam data.

The Kingdom seeks to raise the tourism sector’s contribution to GDP to 10%, making it the second largest driver of the local economy after oil by 2030, according to a recent statement by Al Khateeb.
