Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasury bonds reached $126.4 billion in February, down $481 million month-on-month, marking the largest drop in a one and half year, new data released by the US Treasury showed.
Accordingly, the Kingdom maintained its 17th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries for the month.
Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $104.7 billion, representing 83% of the total. Meanwhile, short-term bonds amounted to $21.8 billion, accounting for 17%.
Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds by value in February, with $1.12 trillion, followed by China ($784.3 billion).
