US President Donald Trump ratcheted up his criticism against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, saying Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE AND WRONG, adding his termination cannot come fast enough.
In his post on Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE AND WRONG, yesterday issued a report which was another, and typical, complete ‘mess!’.
Too late should have lowered Interest Rates, like the European Central Bank (ECB), long ago, but US should certainly lower them now, he added.
Trump noted that the ECB is preparing to cut interest rates for the seventh time, while the Federal Reserve has yet to take similar action, considering this a delay in responding to current economic data.
He added that oil prices are down, groceries (even eggs) are down, and the US is getting rich on tariffs, which, in his opinion, justifies a current interest rate cut.
