Red Sea International Co.’s board of directors decided, in a meeting held today, April 6, to terminate the contract of current CEO Marwan Jan Sayegh, effective as of today.
In a statement to Tadawul, the company said that the board appointed Ghassan Al-Ashkar as the new Acting CEO starting April 6, 2025 until a new CEO is appointed.

According to the company, Al-Ashkar served as Senior Chief Financial Officer of Jeddah Economic Co., Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from February 2017 until 2024.
He served also as Manager of Institutional Development, Secretary of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Audit Committee and Nominations and Remuneration Committee at CPC Holding Co. – Saudi Arabia (Saudi Binladin Group) from September 2014 to February 2017, and its Financial Manager from September 2010 to September 2014.
Al-Ashkar also served as the Financial Manager of Saudi Elevators Co. Limited – Saudi Arabia from January 2002 to mid-2005. Furthermore, he served as the Financial Controller of Al-Mabani General Contracting Co. – Saudi Arabia from September 1994 to January 2002, and its Finance and Accounting Manager from January 1992 to September 1994.
The company also noted that Al-Ashkar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
