Crude oil inventories in the United States rose by about 3.34 million barrels during the week ended Feb. 14, data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed.

Gasoline stocks increased by more than 2.8 million barrels, while distillate stocks – which include diesel and heating oil – fell by about 2.7 million barrels.

Meanwhile, Brent crude futures for April delivery rose 0.25%, or 20 cents, to close at $76.04 a barrel on Feb. 19.

WTI crude futures for March delivery climbed 0.55%, or 40 cents, to $72.25 a barrel.
