The General Authority for Awqaf announced a new set of violations and penalties for the regulation of the work of the trustees, as part of its efforts to strengthen the protection of endowments from encroachment and illegal exploitation.
This comes with the aim of the sustainability of those endowments and achieving compliance with their conditions, it said. 
Furthermore, the new set of penalties target protecting the endowment and its assets from any regulatory risks, taking into account the gradualness of the penalties, and ensuring that they are commensurate with the offense, the magnitude of the act and its impact on the endowment, SPA reported.
