Basic Chemical Industries Co.’s (BCI) board of directors approved the award of the second-phase expansion project for its Jubail Industrial City plant to ThyssenKrupp, according to a statement to Tadawul.
Thecontract, valuedat €14.74 million (SAR 57.97million), is expected to be signedon Jan. 29,the statement added.

The agreementcoversthe sale, supply, and provision of equipment, spare parts, and engineeringas well asconsultancy services for the chlor-alkali plant expansion.
It also includesa limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the technical and engineering know-how,as well asequipment related to plant operations.
BCI estimates the total expansion cost at SAR 89 million, covering construction work and utilities services.
