Oil tanks
Crude oil inventories in the US fell higher than expected in the week ended Jan. 17, according to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Jan. 23.
The EIA said crude oil inventories dipped by one million barrels last week against expectations for a decline of 100,000 barrels.
Similarly, distillate fuel inventories, which include heating oil and diesel, also decreased by 3.1 million barrels.
Meanwhile, gasoline inventories increased by 2.3 million barrels.
