Al-Salem explained in a statement to CNBC Arabia, Yanbu and Jizan will see high investment flows in the future, due to their proximity to the Arabian Shield region amid Saudi Arabia’s tendency to support exploration in the region.

He stated that the authority is working to support industrialization and manufacturing in the mining sector, noting that the RCJY cities are working to consider finding appropriate landfills, reusing the slag that comes out of these industries, and using clean energy, as there is great interest in Saudi Arabia in investing in this field.

The official further indicated that the authority is a major enabler, noting that there are green hydrogen projects under study and discussion that have reached advanced stages, especially Yanbu. This is in addition to advanced work in the field of carbon capture and pumping into oil wells, or using it in manufacturing industries in Yanbu Industrial City.
