Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, stated that the Kingdom already boasts a robust infrastructure to support the mining sector, with its road network being the most interconnected in the world.

Speaking at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), Al-Jasser revealed that over 25 million tons of freight, mostly minerals, were transported via the Kingdom’s rail network last year.

He went on to say that Saudi Arabia’s rail system was primarily built to support logistics and mining sectors.

Al-Jasser added that 50% of government funding for transport and logistics would be allocated to railways to enhance mining activities.

He also highlighted that the National Transport and Logistics Strategy was developed with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources to ensure alignment with mining sector development plans.
