The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced winners of exploration licenses in six mining sites across Riyadh and Makkah, as part of the seventh round of mining competitions.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the seventh round concluded with the winners Almasane Alkobra Mining Co. (AMAK) won three exploration licenses for the sites of Jabal Al Khala – North, Jabal Al Khala – South, and Jabal Al Damma. In addition, Abdul Rahman Saad Al-Rashid Sons Co. (ARTAR) and Gold Minerals Ltd. Co. won the exploration license for the Umm Hujailan – Al-Ma’amala site. The consortium of SkyLark Group Co. and Gulf Mining Co. won the exploration license for Wadi Laith site, and Power Metal Resources won the exploration license for the Jabal Baydan site.

The ministry pointed out that the exploration spending committed by the winning companies in the fifth round of competitions exceeds SAR 126 million, In addition, the companies pledged to spend additional SAR 9 million on the development of communities neighboring the mining sites and contributing to creating job opportunities for the people of those areas.

The mining competitions are part of the ministry’s efforts to achieve the objectives of the comprehensive strategy for the mining and mineral industries sector, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to make the mining sector the third pillar of the Saudi industry.

The ministry also highlighted that it plans to offer 50,000 km² of mineralized belts containing gold, copper, and zinc, with details of the competition to be announced during the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2025.
