Arab National Bank (ANB)plans to issue SAR-denominated additional Tier 1 capital sukuk through a private placement in Saudi Arabia under its SAR 11.25 billion Tier 1 sukuk program.

HSBC Saudi Arabia and ANB Capital were hired as the joint lead managers for the potential offer, the bank said in a statement to Tadawul today, Jan. 13.

The sukuk value and offer terms will be determined later, based on market conditions. The issuance is intended to bolster ANB’s capital base and support general banking purposes.

The proposed offer is pending approval from relevant regulatory authorities and will be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, the statement added.
