The Council of Health Insurance (CHI) announced that over 13 million individuals in Saudi Arabia are now covered under private health insurance.

The mandatory health insurance has been extended to two million basic beneficiaries and 2.4 million dependents, the CHI said in a statement.

In addition, more than 7.2 million non-Saudi basic beneficiaries and 1.4 million dependents have subscribed to the scheme, bringing the total number of private health insurance beneficiaries to 13 million.
